“When you have someone who wants to achieve more, the only thing to do is sit down and let him do what needs to be done. You cannot teach Cristiano about motivation, desire, or technique. Similarly, he chose Raphael Varane during his time at Real Madrid. McTominay and Varane are currently teammates at MU.

Mourinho is unemployed after his contract was terminated by AS Roma’s board of directors in early 2024.

The 61-year-old coach has won 5 out of 6 European Cup finals in his career. At Roma, Mourinho won the Europa League in the 2021/22 season and finished second in the Europa League in the 2022/23 season.
