Midfield Reinforcement: Arsenal Determined to Sign Defensive Midfield Powerhouse

Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that Arsenal is looking to improve their midfield and that they have talked to Joao Palhinha about possibly joining.

Mikel Arteta, Joao Palhinha’s coach, is said to be very happy with how he has done in the Premier League. This season, Palhinha has played in 20 games for Fulham and scored two goals.

Fulham anticipated Palhinha’s possible departure, so they signed a contract with André, a 22-year-old Brazilian talent from Fluminense. Arsenal is also considering selling midfielder Thomas Partey to have more finances to pursue Palhinha.

Partey is still recovering from an injury and has entered the final 18 months of his contract. Teams in Saudi Arabia and Juventus are closely monitoring Partey’s situation.Football rumours: Race hotting up in pursuit of Joao Palhinha | The Independent

Meanwhile, Palhinha, who almost joined Bayern Munich last summer, has attracted attention from a number of top Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

Palhinha’s only negative point probably comes from the fact that he is 28 years old and is not part of the Gunners’ rejuvenation policy.
