So, what’s the latest on Chelsea, Manchester City, and Ian Maatsen? Let us investigate.

Manchester City and West Ham United have both expressed interest in Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen.

According to Rudy Galetti on X, Manchester City and West Ham United are interested in signing Premier League rivals Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen in the January transfer window.

According to the Italian writer, Chelsea are willing to sell Maatsen, who can play as a left-back or winger.

Galetti also stated that Borussia Dortmund are interested in the 21-year-old and are “intensifying contacts.”

Maatsen has been at Chelsea since 2018 and has previously had loan spells at Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, and Burnley. He is well regarded.

Chelsea’s contract with the Netherlands Under-21 international left-back expires in the summer of 2025.

In my opinion, Ian Maatsen should join Manchester City.

If Manchester City make an offer for Ian Maatsen during the January transfer window, the left-back should undoubtedly travel to the Etihad Stadium.

Last season, City won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Cup, and they have one of the most entertaining squads in the world, as well as a truly excellent manager in Pep Guardiola.

Sergio Gomez is the only recognized left-back in the current City squad, therefore Maatsen could have opportunities, if not now, then in the future.

Maatsen has made 12 Premier League outings in his career. He is just starting out, and I believe that working under a manager like Guardiola would be really beneficial to him.
