Barcelona’s transfer prospects get a boost as Bayern Munich considers the potential sale of a €75 million-rated midfielder in the upcoming summer.

Barcelona midfield target Joshua Kimmich could become one of the big names up for grabs in the summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich are trying to reach a contract renewal agreement with the player, whose contract expires in 2025, but so far there is no deal in place.

As such, according to BILD (h/t SPORT), the German club would open the door to a transfer if they cannot extend his contract before the end of this season.

With Barça maintaining their interest in the player, this development comes as a boost for their ambitions.

Kimmich not on board with Bayern’s project

As per the report, the differences between Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich seem to be more sporting than financial.

The player is a reference point for the team but does not see the direction of the Bavarian club’s project, who have had some major changes in the club hierarchy and the staff in the past year or so.

Bayern’s top priority is to renew Kimmich so that he can sign a contract that will tie him to the club for practically the rest of his life, but the player would not mind a change of scenery to try a new experience outside the Bundesliga.

Barcelona remain great admirers

It is nо sеcrеt thаt Kimmich is а plаyer thаt Bаrçа like very much, with the club hаving trieԀ tо sign him lаst summer аs well аs retаining аn interest in him fоr next yeаr.

But, the operation to sign the German would be extremely complicated as he would cost around €75 million at least.

Beyond that, the Catalans will be facing added competition to sign Kimmich as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Man City are also very attentive to what happens with his future.

In any case, Barcelona are fully informed of the steps taken by the player and absolutely nothing has been negotiated because, today, the option is seen as unfeasible.

The Blaugrana believe the only formula to sign him would be through an exchange of players and even though Bayern have an interest in Ronald Araujo, that operation does not appeal to the La Liga champions.
