This shouldn’t come as a surprise, since Barcelona has had a hard time finding a full midfielder since Sergio Busquets left.

Both De Jong and Pedri are very good, but they would do better in a job that requires more creativity and offense.

A lot of the time, they need someone to run things from the sixth spot. Oriol Romeu was signed in the summer, but after a good start, he hasn’t been as good lately.

Three goals for Barcelona

The MD story says that Barcelona has already set its sights on three people who might be a good fit.

It is thought that Bruno Guimaraes is at the top of the list. The star player for Newcastle United has had a lot of success since coming to the Premier League. Barcelona has been interested in signing him for a while now.

Youssouf Fofana of Monaco is another choice. The young star from Strasbourg has been making waves in French football for a while now and could be a good choice for many positions.

Finally, Barcelona wants to sign Amadou Onana from Everton. Since moving from LOSC Lille to the Premier League last summer, the Belgian has done well.

Any of these three players, though, would likely cost Barcelona a lot of money, so the club might have to sell some players to make room for them.
