In the first half, the Scottish midfielder set United on the path to victory by heading in a rebounded effort from 12 yards out. Chelsea, although having numerous opportunities, failed to capitalize on any of them.

Cole Palmer’s calm finish from within the penalty area, which nestled into the bottom-right corner and beаt a despairing André Onana—who could only watch as the ex-City attacker caught him off guard—was a brilliant equalizer shortly before halftime.

In the 69th minute, though, McTominay continued his goal-scoring exploits by racing to the far post to head a cross from Alejandro Garnacho past Robert Sánchez, setting off jubilant celebrations among the home fans.

The midfielder has yet to score a hat trιck in his professional career, however he may have been unlucky not to score after Antony’s excellent set piece performance. A victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s squad will alleviate some of the strain on Erik ten Hag’s term, so his boss won’t be too concerned.
