Rio Ferdinand says Alejandro Garnacho prefers Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi

Messi is said to have unfollowed Garnacho because he prefers Ronaldo

Garnacho scored a sensational goal from a bicycle kick against Everton on Saturday

The 19-year-old then performed Ronaldo’s trademark celebration

In the first few minutes at Goodison Park, Garnacho scored one of the greatest goals in Premier League history with an incredible overhead kick.

The Argentina international has always been a fan of Ronaldo, the former star of Manchester United.

Additionally, the young athlete gave out Nike’s Vapor 15 Mercurial Dream Speed cleats, which were inspired by Ronaldo, to a fan on Monday.

On the Vibe With Five podcast, former Red Devils player Ferdinand shared his thoughts about Garnacho’s imitation of Ronaldo’s celebration.

“You know what I like about him?” he joked. He is indifferent.

“Garnacho informed me that Messi unfollowed him solely due to his open declaration of his affection for Ronaldo.

“Don’t care, he comes out, I’m a Ronaldo man.” Who is the greatest of all time? Ronaldo. (Even) when he is playing for Argentina.”

Fans thought Messi unfollowed Garnacho in 2022 after the latter posted a picture of Ronaldo referring to the Al-Nassr star as the best player of all time.

The winger uploaded a photo of himself with the Argentina captain with the hashtag “idol” just three weeks prior.

Garnacho, who made his senior international debut for La Albiceleste this year, has since appeared with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner three times.

Despite the Man Utd starlet following Garnacho on Instagram, Messi still does not follow him.

Both Ronaldo and Messi are seen as two of the greatest players in football history, and their rivalry has persisted for most of their professional careers.
